Riverside Health System is hiring a Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care for adolescent patients in a full-time, day shift position based in Hampton, Virginia. You will work under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Director, assessing patient clinical and psychosocial needs, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs using standards of practice specific to adolescent psychiatric care
- Partner with patients and families to develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, treatments, and procedures that support physiological and psychosocial outcomes
- Incorporate evidence-based standards of practice and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care coordination
- Facilitate safe patient transitions to the next level of care as part of the overall care plan
- Demonstrate sense of urgency in patient throughput to ensure consistent, competent, and ethical care
- Understand and address the diverse needs of adolescent patient populations, modifying education methods to ensure patient and family comprehension
- Coordinate and deliver individualized patient education and discharge-specific education to families and caregivers, evaluating comprehension and documenting accordingly
- Complete all required clinical and quality documentation accurately and consistently per Riverside Health System standards and regulatory requirements
- Delegate and prioritize tasks appropriately to facilitate quality patient care and service excellence
- Recognize and respond to emergency situations, evaluating resources and support needed to meet patient care needs
- Supervise and delegate non-professional personnel to ensure optimum patient care
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) license from Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state, required upon hire
- CPR/BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute, required upon hire
- Nursing Diploma (minimum), Associate's Degree in Nursing, or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- High School Diploma or GED (required only if holding a Nursing Diploma)

Schedule
- Full-time, day shift position
- Weekend shifts required
- Irregular shifts required
Compensation
- Hourly range: $36.50 - $50.23
- Actual pay determined based on job-related factors including relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs
- Sign-on bonus eligible
