PRN Registered Nurse (RN)

Village Caregiving is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse to provide in-home nursing assessments and care planning for clients and Veterans in the Cedar Rapids area. While the branch office is located in Iowa City, this role primarily serves clients throughout Cedar Rapids and surrounding communities.

This is a flexible PRN position offering highly adaptable scheduling to accommodate your lifestyle. You will work independently, visiting clients in their homes to complete initial admissions, 90-day reassessments, and ongoing evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Visit clients and Veterans in their homes for one-on-one assessments and visits
• Complete initial admissions, 90-day reassessments, and ongoing evaluations to identify physical, psychosocial, and environmental needs
• Perform in-home safety evaluations and observe the home environment
• Develop individualized care plans that provide caregivers a clear blueprint for safe, relationship-centered care
• Educate patients and families on home health strategies and recommend helpful medical devices or tools
• Communicate proactively with clients, families, team members, and the Executive Director
• Complete VA Nurse Assessment documentation on a supplied tablet the same day as the visit
• Track and report completed assessments to the Executive Director at the end of each pay period

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Iowa
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous nursing experience in the home care setting

Compensation and Schedule

• Competitive pay of $60.00 per hour for up to 2 hours per in-home assessment
• Paid semi-monthly
• Flexible PRN scheduling
