The opportunity

Job Description

Concerto Renal Services is seeking a PRN Dialysis Patient Care Technician to join its hemodialysis team in skilled nursing and long-term care facilities. In this role, you will provide direct patient care to individuals with end-stage renal disease, working under the supervision of a licensed nurse to deliver safe and effective dialysis therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on direct patient care to assigned patients under licensed nurse supervision
  • Initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments according to prescribed orders
  • Obtain and document pre- and post-treatment vital signs, weight, and vascular access assessments
  • Report any unusual findings to the supervising nurse
  • Set up, operate, and perform safety checks on hemodialysis machines
  • Administer heparin as permitted by state law
  • Accurately document patient treatment details
  • Prepare laboratory specimens as prescribed
  • Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and staff
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR certification or completion upon starting in the unit
  • Minimum of two years of dialysis technician experience
  • Dialysis certification required
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This role involves prolonged walking, standing, stooping, and bending. You must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. The position requires strong focus and attention to detail in a clinical setting with temperature control and moderate noise levels. There is potential exposure to infectious materials.

  • PRN (as-needed) position
  • Minimum of two monthly shift picks required
