Primary Care Provider - Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (DPC)

Frontier Direct Care is a direct primary care organization seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as the primary clinician for a defined patient panel in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This full-time position offers the opportunity to practice longitudinal primary care with 30-60 minute visits and manageable patient panels, supported by a dedicated Medical Assistant and collaborating physician.

Clinical Setting

Frontier Direct Care operates employer-sponsored direct primary care clinics across Texas. New positions are opening in Richardson, Mesquite, Duncanville, and Arlington. Because member care is covered through employer benefit plans rather than fee-for-service billing, there are no RVU targets or coding-driven pressures.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary clinician for a defined patient panel
• Provide longitudinal primary care including preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute visits
• Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia
• Perform in-office procedures including incision and drainage, suturing and suture removal, skin biopsies, and men's and women's health exams
• See patients in person, by phone, and via secure video and text communication
• Direct daily patient care and delegate tasks to your assigned Medical Assistant
• Document visits and maintain records in the electronic health record system
• Provide after-hours patient access through a company-provided secure line
• Practice under a collaborating or delegating physician in accordance with Texas Medical Board requirements
• Participate in weekly team meetings and one-on-one supervision

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Texas licensure as an APRN-FNP (national board certified) or PA (NCCPA-certified)
• Minimum 2 years of post-graduate experience in family practice or primary care
• Experience managing patients across the lifespan from pediatric through geriatric populations
• Hands-on procedural experience including incision and drainage, suturing and suture removal, skin biopsies, IV placement, and men's and women's health exams
• Active, unrestricted DEA registration or ability to obtain before start date
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Comfort with electronic medical records and scheduling tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in direct primary care, concierge medicine, or employer-sponsored clinics
• Bilingual capability in English and Spanish
• Experience owning a patient panel with a high degree of clinical autonomy
• Telehealth experience or multistate licensure
• Preference for lower-volume, higher-touch medicine over high-throughput fee-for-service practice
