Job Description

Join East Hawaii Medical Group as an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in primary care on the Big Island of Hawaii. This is a 0.75 FTE position working three 10-hour shifts per week. You will provide comprehensive primary care to diverse patient populations across East Hawaii, working within a large, established healthcare system that supports multiple hospitals and clinics.

Clinical Setting

East Hawaii Medical Group is the largest group of healthcare providers on the Big Island, comprising over 140 physicians and advanced practice providers across multiple specialties. The organization supports Hilo Benioff Medical Center, Honoka'a Hospital, Ka'u Hospital, and East Hawaii Health Clinics. You will work in a collaborative environment focused on providing both primary and specialty care to island residents.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of conditions
  • Prescribe medications and other treatment modalities following evidence-based guidelines and protocols
  • Perform minor procedures such as wound care, suturing, and joint injections as needed
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, preferences, and medical history
  • Educate patients and families on preventive healthcare measures, disease management strategies, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborate closely with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-up recommendations accurately and timely in the electronic health record system

Required Qualifications

  • Current APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) license with experience, OR
  • Current PA (Physician Assistant) license with experience

Schedule

  • 0.75 FTE position
  • Three 10-hour shifts per week
