The opportunity

Job Description

Center for Discovery is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) to provide direct clinical services for psychiatric conditions in an outpatient setting. This part-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations across the organization's behavioral health care model. The age range of patients served will be based on the scope of practice of the individual clinician.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate scheduled patients consistent with prevailing practice standards, including collection of psychiatric history, relevant medical history, social and family history, mental status examination, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations
  • Establish rapport with patients and relevant members of their social system to assist them in understanding and accepting treatment recommendations within a shared decision-making model
  • Prescribe and implement treatment consistent with diagnosis and relevant standards, including medications within the ARNP's scope of practice
  • Complete patient records accurately and in a timely fashion, generally the same day of service but no later than one week after the patient is seen
  • Code services consistent with ethical and legal billing standards while supporting billing adequate to sustain the position financially
  • Strive to achieve 80% productivity based on CPT code time elements, with extra time allotted for initial evaluations per utilization policy
  • Cooperate with other medical services regarding vacation coverage, direct patient care, and medication refills as necessary
  • Collaborate with internal and external clinicians, administrative staff, and management to provide optimal care to all clients and patients
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Clinical Setting

This position is based in an outpatient behavioral health setting. Due to the nature of the organization's behavioral health care model, willingness to work with patients with substance use disorders is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Health Care, or other related field
  • Active Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner licensure in state of practice
  • Ability to use electronic medical records

  • Ability to evaluate patient response and modify treatment plans as necessary
  • Willingness to follow through with ethical responsibilities to patients, including occasional off-hours engagement to support necessary medication coverage and refills

Compensation and Schedule

  • Pay range: $70.00 to $85.00 per hour
  • Part-time, W2 employment
  • On-site work required

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

  • Engage in sustained power grasping and pushing/pulling motions
  • Work with hands, seizing, holding, and grasping objects
  • Perform hand/eye coordination work using both hands and eyes
  • Lift by raising or lowering objects from one level to another
  • Intermittently lift and carry up to 40 pounds, transporting objects usually by hand, arm, or shoulder
  • Stand and walk frequently for extended periods, often throughout the entire shift
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations, which may involve running or moving rapidly
  • Potential exposure to dust, gas, odors, liquids, or fumes
  • Potential exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and hazardous materials, requiring adherence to safety and PPE protocols

Additional Requirements

As a condition of employment, all candidates must agree to and sign a pre-employment arbitration agreement. This agreement requires that any disputes arising out of or related to employment with Discovery Practice Management will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than through litigation in court. The organization maintains a drug-free workplace and performs pre-employment substance abuse testing.
