TridentCare is seeking a PICC RN - Vascular Nurse to perform peripheral inserted central catheter (PICC) line placements and provide comprehensive vascular access services. In this role, you will assess patients, perform PICC and midline insertions, ensure proper line placement, and provide clinical support to facility nursing staff. You will work independently while maintaining high standards of patient care, aseptic technique, and clinical competency.
Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate patients to determine candidacy for PICC placement, including review of medical history, laboratory values, and venous and musculoskeletal status
- Perform PICC and midline insertions using aseptic technique while preventing patient discomfort and trauma
- Verify physician orders and obtain informed consent prior to procedures
- Perform time-out procedures and confirm correct patient identification before initiating PICC placement
- Document PICC insertions, radiologist confirmation of placement, and medication administration in accordance with company policy
- Provide patient education about PICC insertion, care, and maintenance
- Instruct facility nurses and staff on patient PICC care and maintenance
- Demonstrate critical thinking and assessment skills related to vascular access devices
- Participate in performance improvement activities by providing insertion information to facility staff
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Complete required paperwork and documentation
- Assist Territory Managers in clinical support meetings as needed
- Support the Director of Vascular Access in facility rounds with Directors of Nursing, Administration, and nursing staff
- Manage fiscal viability of the PICC program by entering charges, using equipment appropriately, and using time productively
- Maintain patient confidentiality
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in nursing
- Current RN (Registered Nurse) license
- PICC certification
- Current BLS certification
- Two years of experience in operating room (OR), interventional radiology (IR), or PICC insertion
- Knowledge base for caring for central venous catheters
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Clinical Competency Requirements
- Maintain clinical competency by inserting a minimum of six PICCs per year
- Perform one observed successful PICC insertion annually
Schedule and Compensation
- Flexible schedule

- Starting pay: $90,000
