PICC LINE RN PRN

This PRN position offers the opportunity to perform PICC line and midline insertions using ultrasound guidance. You will conduct individualized patient assessments, maintain sterile technique throughout procedures, and identify appropriate veins based on anatomy and catheter specifications. The role emphasizes patient safety, quality care, and positive patient experiences while collaborating effectively with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Perform individualized patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Use ultrasound to identify appropriate veins, considering anatomy and size relative to catheter and its intended use
• Maintain sterile field throughout all procedures
• Demonstrate and encourage team behavior and exceptional patient and guest experiences
• Uphold and promote patient safety and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing
• Active Alabama state RN licensure
• Two to three years of nursing experience
• ACLS certification (must be obtained within one year of hire date if not current)
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• PICC and midline certification
• Wound care experience
