The University of Kentucky Department of Radiology is seeking a full-time, fellowship-trained Vascular & Interventional Radiologist for a faculty position. You will be appointed at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor commensurate with your qualifications and experience.
The Division of Vascular & Interventional Radiology is a clinically robust, academically focused division composed of nine full-time faculty members practicing 100% Interventional Radiology. The division is supported by six dedicated Advanced Practice Providers and maintains a fully integrated longitudinal care model through its own free-standing ambulatory Vascular & Interventional Radiology clinic.
The Department of Radiology is a multidisciplinary team encompassing more than 60 faculty members and more than 500 staff. Radiologists interpret more than 700,000 studies annually, serving a Level I Trauma Center with approximately 700 beds, an NCCN-accredited Comprehensive Cancer Center, Kentucky Children's Hospital, and multiple outpatient imaging facilities. The department supports continued growth including the opening of a Cancer and Advanced Ambulatory Building, a new multi-disciplinary ambulatory care site, an expansion of the main hospital, and a new tower for Kentucky Children's Hospital.
The Department is active in medical education and research. The Diagnostic Radiology residency program has 32 residents (8 per class), and the Integrated Interventional Radiology residency has 10 residents (2 per class). The Department offers both the Early Specialization in IR (ESIR) pathway and an Independent Interventional Radiology residency, as well as a Medical Physics Residency. Fellowships are available in Abdominal Imaging, Chest and Cardiovascular Imaging, Breast Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Neuroradiology, Emergency Radiology, and Oncologic Imaging. An accelerated pathway to dual ABNM and ABR certification is available for those interested in Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging.
The Department participates in more than 50 ongoing clinical trials across molecular imaging, oncology, theranostics, fMRI and neuro-imaging, interventional radiology, and artificial intelligence. Faculty published more than 50 manuscripts during the last academic year and were invited speakers at over 100 national or international conferences.
