US Arthritis and Rheumatology Institute in Northwest Las Vegas is seeking a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its rheumatology team. In this full-time position, you will work alongside an experienced rheumatologist to provide comprehensive care to patients with autoimmune diseases, inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disorders, and other rheumatologic conditions. You will be responsible for patient evaluations, diagnosis and management of complex rheumatologic conditions, administration and monitoring of biologic therapies and DMARDs, and performance of rheumatology-specific procedures including joint injections and aspirations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including history taking, physical exams, and assessment of lab results
- Diagnose and manage rheumatologic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, and spondyloarthropathies
- Administer and monitor biologic therapies and DMARDs
- Perform joint injections, aspirations, and other rheumatology-specific procedures
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide patient education regarding disease processes, medication management, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with practice policies and legal requirements
- Work collaboratively with the rheumatologist, medical scribes, and other healthcare professionals
- Coordinate care with specialists and assist in referrals as needed
- Stay current with the latest research, treatment options, and clinical guidelines in rheumatology
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the NCCPA
- Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant
- CPR/BLS certification
- DEA license
- One or more years of experience in rheumatology
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex patient cases
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
