Join US Arthritis and Rheumatology Institute as a Physician Assistant in our Mesa, Phoenix rheumatology practice. You will provide comprehensive clinical care to patients with autoimmune diseases, inflammatory arthritis, and connective tissue disorders, working alongside an experienced rheumatologist to diagnose, treat, and manage complex rheumatologic conditions.
Clinical Setting
This is a full-time, in-person position at a dedicated rheumatology practice. You will work collaboratively with a rheumatologist, medical scribes, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history taking, physical exams, and assessment of lab results
- Diagnose and manage rheumatologic conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, gout, and spondyloarthropathies
- Administer and monitor biologic therapies and DMARDs
- Perform joint injections, aspirations, and other rheumatology-specific procedures
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, medication management, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with practice policies and legal requirements
- Coordinate care with specialists and assist in referrals as needed
- Stay current with the latest research, treatment options, and clinical guidelines in rheumatology
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) by the NCCPA
- Active state licensure as a Physician Assistant
- One or more years of experience in rheumatology
- CPR/BLS certification
- DEA license
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage complex patient cases
- Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
