UCHealth Medical Group and the UCHealth Urgent Care team at the Voyager Clinic in Colorado Springs are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join their full-time clinical team. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive urgent care services to pediatric and adult patients in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Clinical Setting

You will work in an urgent care setting as part of UCHealth's Medical Group, which employs nearly 2,000 physicians and advanced practice providers across Colorado, southern Wyoming, and western Nebraska. UCHealth is an innovative, nonprofit health system with 14 acute-care hospitals and over 150 clinic locations.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures
  • Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources
  • Provide counseling and education to patients and their families or caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources
  • Perform preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations, and care
  • Work independently with critical thinking skills and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

  • 2 or more years of experience working with pediatric and adult patients as an advanced practice provider in an urgent care or emergency room setting
  • For Nurse Practitioner candidates: Full prescriptive authority is required
  • Unrestricted professional license in the State of Colorado
  • Current certification: PA-C (Physician Assistant Certification Board) or NP certification from ANCC or AANPCB
  • Unrestricted DEA permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice
  • Unrestricted medical staff membership with appropriate practice privileges
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Eligible to maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid
  • No sanctions or exclusions from HHS/OIG or GSA List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs

Education and Licensure

Physician Assistant candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.

Nurse Practitioner candidates must hold a Master's Degree in Nursing and be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Full or provisional prescriptive authority eligibility is required, and the provider must apply for prescriptive authority as a condition of employment.

Schedule and Employment

This is a full-time position. Candidates may be considered for all full-time opportunities in the Southern Colorado area.

Compensation and Benefits

The pay range for this full-time position is $115,003 to $150,779 annually, dependent on relevant experience. A productivity incentive may be offered.
