Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner (PRN)

Medcor is seeking a Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner to work on a PRN (as-needed) basis in an employer-based clinic setting in New York, NY. This position supports the entertainment industry and focuses on occupational health and acute/episodic care in a modern facility. Please note: This is not a full-time position. Since this is on an as-needed basis, there are no guaranteed hours. If you have the flexibility to pick up occasional shifts, we invite you to apply.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a Monday through Friday day shift clinic environment. The clinic provides a broad scope of services including diagnosis and treatment of workers' compensation injuries and illnesses, urgent care, surveillance and regulatory exams, and preventative services. You will work closely with a Medcor-employed oversight physician assigned to the site, as well as other PAs, NPs, and Certified Medical Assistants. There are no weekend or on-call hours; however, with advanced notice, flexibility for additional hours is preferred as requested by the client.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior clinical care and customer service to Medcor's client and employees
• Treat injuries and illnesses following Evidence-Based Medicine standards
• Build and maintain internal team relationships
• Collaborate with client professionals in health, safety, and environmental practices
• Collaborate with client human resources and benefits professionals on clinical issues
• Support client's wellness and preventative programs
• Document and manage information using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
• Provide patient education regarding medical conditions and treatment options
• Coach patients regarding healthy behaviors

Required Qualifications

• Valid unrestricted New York licensure (PA or NP)
• Current DEA certification
• Current BLS certification
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR software
• Positive and outgoing personality with collaborative team approach
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with patients, clients, and colleagues
• Willingness to provide excellent customer service
• Comfort working in an on-site clinic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous occupational health or urgent care experience

Schedule

• Day shift, Monday through Friday
• No weekend or on-call hours
• PRN/as-needed basis with no guaranteed hours
• Flexibility for additional hours with advanced notice as requested by the client

Compensation

• 83.05 per hour
