Physician Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner - Outpatient ENT - 38th Street, Manhattan

Join NYU Langone Health as a Physician Assistant in our Outpatient ENT clinic located on 38th Street in Manhattan. This is an ambulatory care position where you will provide comprehensive medical care to ENT patients under the supervision of a physician. You will perform clinical evaluations, prescribe medications and medical equipment, coordinate patient care, and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality outpatient services.

Clinical Setting

This position is based at NYU Langone Health's Ambulatory Care Center on 41st Street in Manhattan, part of NYU Grossman School of Medicine. You will work in an outpatient ENT specialty practice with access to clinical research opportunities and a commitment to evidence-based care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care using sound medical knowledge and pertinent standards of care
• Perform therapeutic, corrective, and prescriptive measures for designated outpatient populations
• Evaluate treatment and health care plans for effectiveness and modify per clinical standards and practice protocols
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances with DEA authorization, according to New York State law
• Prescribe medical equipment, devices, physical and occupational therapy, and home health services per practice protocol
• Educate patients and families to promote healthy adjustment to new or changed health patterns
• Perform delegated clinical duties effectively and efficiently
• Coordinate implementation of clinical research studies or clinical trials, including patient screening, enrollment, and data collection
• Assist in preparation, implementation, and evaluation of research protocols when applicable
• Work collaboratively with nursing and other disciplines in development and implementation of clinical studies
• Use evidence-based health care literature to support appropriate practice changes
• Participate in development and monitoring of patient outcomes per established practice protocols for quality and performance improvement
• Serve as a clinical expert and resource for education of peers and other health professionals
• Monitor and trend cost effectiveness of the position and efficiency indicators
• Facilitate patient throughput and efficient processes during admission and discharge
• Facilitate continuity of care across the continuum of services
• Provide consultation about therapeutic regimen to nursing staff
• Work collaboratively with attending physicians to maintain timely and appropriate communication with family members, house staff, and other disciplines
• Participate in development and revision of interdisciplinary and hospital standards and patient education materials
• Develop and implement therapeutic plans of care for patient groups
• Plan and organize care to meet individual patient needs and ensure appropriate clinical resource utilization
• Demonstrate knowledge of organizational core values and incorporate them into performance of responsibilities
• Function as a respectful member of the health care team
• Maintain PA board certification and annual CME requirements
• Maintain current expertise in area of practice and promote professional growth and development
• Participate in designated activities related to professional physician assistant practice standards

Required Qualifications

• Physician Assistant Bachelor's Degree (BA-PA)
• Current New York State Physician Assistant License
• NCCPA Board Certification
• Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association
• At least 2 years of clinical rotation in various medical, surgical, and other specialty areas

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a physician assistant or physician assistant fellowship experience
• Advanced Life Support certification (ACLS, PALS) through the American Heart Association or Neonatal Resuscitation certification (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics
• Membership in pertinent professional organizations

Physical Requirements

• Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual and aural acuity to perform responsibilities

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $148,463.51 to $178,963.51 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
