Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Healogics Wound Care, Full-time, Days

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our Healogics Wound Care department. This Advanced Practice Provider role combines outpatient ambulatory clinic work with inpatient rounding at CDH and Marianjoy facilities. You will provide comprehensive wound care management, working collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based clinical care.

Clinical Setting

• Hospital outpatient ambulatory clinic with inpatient rounding
• Facilities: CDH and Marianjoy
• Patient population: Wound care patients requiring comprehensive assessment and management

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• No call, weekends, or nights

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive health assessments including patient histories and physical examinations
• Provide direct clinical care to assigned patient populations
• Prescribe and order medications, therapies, laboratory tests, imaging, and procedures according to clinical privileges
• Evaluate patients to determine need for additional healthcare services
• Document all care, education, and procedures in the medical record
• Provide comprehensive teaching to patients and families
• Refer to other disciplines as appropriate and serve as consultant in areas of expertise
• Integrate research-based knowledge and clinical expertise in clinical decision-making
• Advocate for patients, families, coworkers, and the community
• Participate in quality improvement and research initiatives pertinent to wound care
• Mentor graduate students in advanced practice and patient care
• Participate in unit, departmental, divisional, or hospital committees and task forces
• Maintain professional appearance, manner, and presentation
• Serve as a role model and preceptor to students
• Provide formal education to internal and external groups in your specialty
• Maintain all required certifications and continuing education for licensure and privileging

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing OR Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
• For APRNs: Acute care certification required (inpatient experience as an NP may be considered in lieu of acute care certification)
• Current RN license in Illinois
• Current APRN license in Illinois
• APRN certification by a national certifying body approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board
• OR current PA license in Illinois
• Privileged and credentialed through Northwestern Medicine Medical Staff Office
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Controlled substance license and DEA number (may apply once licensed)

Preferred Qualifications

• Wound care experience
