The opportunity

Job Description

AdventHealth is seeking a Pharmacy Technician IV Certified Chemo Infusion to join our pharmacy team in Orlando, Florida. In this role, you will prepare hazardous and non-hazardous medications in sterile compounding IV rooms, deliver medications to nurse areas, restock medications for IV rooms and pyxis machines, handle controlled substances, and maintain cleanliness of work areas at the beginning and end of each shift.

This position offers significant leadership and operational responsibilities beyond traditional technician duties. You will lead enterprise-level inventory operations, including procurement processes, formulary alignment, and perpetual inventory accuracy. You will oversee controlled substance programs and diversion prevention efforts while ensuring compliance with DEA and institutional policies. The role includes conducting advanced audits and operations reviews to advise on inventory integrity analytics, cost containment strategies, medication shortage mitigation, and supply chain resilience. You will also lead system-wide medication safety initiatives, including risk mitigation, error prevention, and safety education, while facilitating root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts as a pharmacy safety champion and advisor to leadership.

Schedule

Full-time position with rotating shifts of 8 hours per day plus 30-minute lunch. Hours of operation are 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday and 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM Saturdays. The facility is currently closed on major holidays. Hours and days of operation are subject to change based on patient needs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 or more years of contemporary hospital pharmacy experience
  • Active state pharmacy technician registration
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) license in the applicable jurisdiction
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
  • Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting, as required by state law

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree
  • Completion of a pharmacy technician training program
  • Technical or vocational school training

Compensation and Benefits

Pay range: $20.58 to $32.92 per hour

Sign-on bonus of $2,500 for eligible candidates
