Cincinnati Children's is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support medication preparation and distribution in the Operating Room and Critical Care units. This full-time position is based at the Burnet Campus in Cincinnati, Ohio, and involves rotating shifts with hands-on, detail-driven work where accuracy, teamwork, and urgency are essential.
Clinical Setting
You will work in the Operating Room and Critical Care units, rotating through key pharmacy areas while collaborating closely with pharmacists and clinical teams to ensure safe and efficient medication delivery to patients.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute medications accurately and efficiently
- Perform unit dose preparation for cartfill and first doses
- Prepare non-sterile, non-hazardous medications and oral syringes from liquid dosage forms
- Deliver patient-specific doses across units
- Replenish automated dispensing cabinets (ADC) and maintain inventory
- Compound sterile and non-sterile medications
- Perform medication storage inspections
- Interact with pharmacy automated dispensing machines and hospital computer systems
- Perform outpatient pharmacy phone triage
- Perform insurance adjudication
- Collaborate with pharmacists and care teams to ensure quality and safety
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 months of pharmacy technician experience
- Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy
- PTCB certification and Ohio Board of Pharmacy certification within 18 months of hire
- ASHP accredited program graduate, OR licensed as a Pharmacy Intern, OR 6 months of pharmacy-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Pharmacy technician certification (or ability to obtain within 18 months)
- Experience working as a pharmacy technician in a clinical setting

Compensation
- Base pay: $21.50-$24.62 per hour
- Shift differential: $2.00 per hour
- Weekend differential: $1.50 per hour
