Aspire Living & Learning is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to ensure nursing procedures, care, and medication administration programs meet all regulatory and organizational standards. This per diem position is based in Naugatuck, CT and involves conducting initial and refresher medication certification training, annual nursing procedure trainings, and program oversight across registered sites.
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and refresher medication certification training and annual nursing procedure trainings as needed
- Ensure compliance with state regulations and licensing requirements for nursing care, medication storage, and medication administration at registered sites
- Provide program oversight, training, and audits for nursing care and medication administration
- Develop internal procedures and practices to support compliance with state regulations regarding medication storage, handling, administration, and nursing care protocols
- Identify training needs and develop and deliver appropriate training based on identified needs
- Conduct medication and nursing audits
Clinical Setting
Aspire Living & Learning provides person-centered services to neurodiverse children and adults across New England and Maryland, including education, behavioral health, residential, and community-based supports.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM
- Per diem employment
Required Qualifications
- Current, valid RN license
- Current, valid state certification to train mandated medication administration course and/or meet state requirements to become a certified trainer, if applicable
- Thorough knowledge of nursing care and medication administration regulations
- Ability to identify training needs and develop and deliver appropriate training
- Ability to conduct medication and nursing audits
- Excellent training skills
- Satisfactory background checks
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with diabetes care
- Experience with children and young adults up to 21 with developmental disabilities and/or dual diagnosis
- Five years of experience working with medication administration procedures and regulations
- Five years of experience developing and delivering medication administration training
