VIC the PICC (VTP) is a specialized healthcare provider offering vascular access consulting services to acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home healthcare agencies. As a Per Diem PICC Nurse, you will work collaboratively with facility clinical teams to resolve venous access issues and support treatment objectives set by physicians. You may work in hospital settings or mobile environments, providing you exposure to different treatment protocols and patient challenges across care settings. This role offers a different pace from traditional 12-hour shifts, with a focus on quality vascular access care.
Responsibilities
- Place PICCs, midlines, and peripheral intravenous lines using ultrasound guidance
- Utilize ECG technology for PICC tip confirmation
- Assist with management of PICCs and other vascular access devices
- Provide vascular access support services including port access, line removal, and declotting
- Educate facility nursing staff on PICCs, midlines, and other central venous access devices
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Registered Nurse license
- Prior independent PICC insertion experience
- Experience placing PICCs, midlines, or other vascular access devices using ultrasound
- Experience placing ultrasound-guided intravenous lines
- Experience in vascular access device management, including care, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- American Heart BLS Certification
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care RN experience
- Valid driver's license, active auto insurance, and reliable transportation
- Ability to work independently and meet scheduling requirements
- Smartphone for scheduling and documentation
Schedule
- Per Diem position with minimum of four scheduled shifts per month
- Typical shifts are approximately 8 hours
- Availability to pick up additional shifts as needed
- Weekend availability and participation in holiday rotation required
- Travel to customer facilities as assigned; scheduling requirements vary by job classification
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $60-$90 USD (based on candidate experience and relevant certifications)
