PER DIEM - REGISTERED NURSE (RN) ED/ER (PEDS)

Talented Medical Solutions is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality pediatric emergency department (ED) nursing care. This temporary, part-time position is based on-site in Minneapolis, MN, and offers flexible scheduling with per diem shift coverage.

Clinical Setting

You will work in a pediatric emergency department, providing stabilization and treatment to pediatric patients in an acute care environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality ED pediatric nursing care to stabilize and treat patients
• Perform triage, rapid assessment, and prioritization of pediatric cases using standardized protocols
• Administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions in pediatric patients
• Document patient encounters accurately in the EHR and ensure data integrity
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care
• Maintain infection control, safety protocols, and pediatric-specific equipment readiness
• Escort and support pediatric patients and families, providing clear and age-appropriate explanations
• Support on-site shift coverage with flexibility to adapt to patient load
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical guideline updates
• Pursue ongoing professional development through certifications and expanded pediatric ER skills
• Adhere to all regulatory requirements, privacy laws, and hospital policies

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required or obtainable within 6 months
• Ability to perform triage and prioritize pediatric cases using standardized protocols
• Ability to administer medications and monitor for adverse reactions in children
• Proficient EHR documentation with attention to data integrity
• Strong infection control and safety protocol adherence
• Excellent family communication skills with ability to provide age-appropriate explanations
• Ability to work per diem, on-site, with flexible shift coverage
• Collaborative teamwork with physicians and support staff

Preferred Qualifications

• Pediatric ER/ED experience
