Join Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System as a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner in Pediatrics Nursing. This is an as-needed position providing clinical patient care to pediatric patients on a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical patient care to all assigned pediatric patients on an as-needed basis
- Maintain current BCLS/ACLS certification and meet annual program requirements
- Demonstrate required clinical competence within the scope of the position
- Complete the orientation program coordinated by Nursing Education prior to beginning work
- Comply with all institutional regulations and policies
- Maintain telephone accessibility for assignment scheduling
- Notify the unit or care center office of any changes to contact information
- Provide at least two weeks' written notice of resignation
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in nursing designed to prepare a registered nurse to provide acute/primary health care services, or successful completion of an approved supplemental education program such as a post-Master's NP certificate
- Relevant clinical nursing experience
- Active New York State RN license
- Active New York State CNP (Certified Nurse Practitioner) license
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Additional Certifications
Depending on assignment area, the following certifications may be required:
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for Labor and Delivery or NICU assignments
- ACLS for ED, PACU/ASU, ICUs, Telemetry Units, SDU, IR, Interventional Cardiology, L&D, Endoscopy, or APN Adult Oncology assignments
- PALS for ED, PACU, IR, Pediatric ICU, or APN Pediatric Oncology assignments
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $96.42. Actual compensation depends on experience, education, and operational need. This rate does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
