Per Diem Nurse Practitioner-Geriatric/Palliative SC - ISM, Icahn School of Medicine

This is a per diem (as-needed) Nurse Practitioner position in Geriatric and Palliative Care at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Health System. You will provide clinical patient care to assigned patients on an as-needed basis, working flexibly according to operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical patient care to all assigned patients on an as-needed basis
• Maintain current BCLS/ACLS certification and meet annual program requirements
• Demonstrate required clinical competence in geriatric and palliative care
• Complete the orientation program coordinated by Nursing Education prior to beginning work
• Comply with all institutional regulations and policies
• Maintain telephone accessibility for assignment control
• Notify the unit or care center office of any changes to contact information
• Provide at least two weeks' notice of resignation

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in a nursing program designed to prepare a registered nurse to provide acute/primary health care services, or successful completion of an approved supplemental education program (such as a post-Master's NP certificate)
• Relevant clinical nursing experience
• Active New York RN license (DOH/Office of Professions)
• Active New York CNP (Certified Nurse Practitioner) license (DOH/Office of Professions)
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification (AHA)

Additional Certifications

Depending on the specific clinical setting, additional certifications may be required:

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) for Labor and Delivery or NICU assignments
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for ED, PACU, IR, Pediatric ICU, or Pediatric Oncology assignments

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $96.42
• Actual salary depends on experience, education, and operational need
• This rate does not include bonuses, incentive pay, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits
