Austin Radiological Association (ARA) is seeking Pediatric Radiologists to join a dedicated pediatric radiology section at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas. This position offers the opportunity to maintain a true pediatric focus with more than 90% pediatric cases while working within one of the country's most established radiology practices.

Based at Dell Children's Medical Center, a 248-bed freestanding pediatric facility serving a 46-county area, you will care for a broad and complex patient population. The hospital is home to the region's only Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and Level IV NICU, providing sophisticated clinical complexity and diverse case volume. The practice also serves additional pediatric facilities and outpatient imaging centers throughout Austin.

Clinical Setting

Dell Children's Medical Center is a regional referral center for pediatric trauma and critical care. The pediatric radiology section consists of six dedicated pediatric radiologists providing specialized diagnostic and interventional services. You will have access to strong subspecialty support including Pediatric Neuro, MSK MRI, and Interventional Radiology, allowing you to focus on your area of expertise within a comprehensive team.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret pediatric body imaging including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and radiographs
  • Perform pediatric fluoroscopy procedures
  • Provide emergency and acute-care pediatric imaging interpretation
  • Manage inpatient and outpatient pediatric imaging cases
  • Collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and referring providers
  • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences
  • Teach radiology residents, fellows, and medical students through UT Dell Medical School
  • Participate in leadership, education, and research initiatives

For physicians with a passion for procedures, this opportunity provides access to a growing pediatric interventional radiology environment. Pediatric IR candidates will have opportunities to participate in advanced pediatric image-guided procedures with dedicated procedural support, including a pediatric-specific procedural APP.

Schedule

The pediatric section maintains a shared coverage model designed to provide predictable scheduling while ensuring comprehensive pediatric coverage.

  • Weekday daytime shifts: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with protected one-hour lunch break
  • Weekend and holiday coverage: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • Evening coverage: 4:00 PM to 10:30 PM
  • Call and holiday responsibilities shared evenly across the pediatric section
  • At-home pager coverage for pediatric fluoroscopy procedures with generous hourly callback stipend
  • Overnight pediatric diagnostic coverage provided by contracted teleradiology service
  • Flexible internal moonlighting opportunities including shift-based and pay-per-study options

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology
  • Completion of a Pediatric Radiology fellowship or CAQ in Pediatric Radiology
  • Comfortable interpreting a broad range of pediatric imaging
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative communication skills
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and exceptional patient care
  • Eligible for Texas medical licensure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pediatric Interventional Radiology experience or training
  • Current fellows and residents are encouraged to apply

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $500,000 to $1,000,000
