Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is seeking a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join an established pediatric endocrinology program. This role offers sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligibility.
Clinical Setting
Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital is a 226-bed, award-winning full-service children's hospital serving Northern Virginia with pediatric experts in 45+ specialties. The hospital has been educating residents and medical students for more than 25 years and serves as the Northern Virginia Campus of the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for pediatric endocrinology patients
- Collaborate with an established endocrinology program consisting of 6 endocrinologists and 2 nurse practitioners
- Work with a multidisciplinary team including 5 diabetes educators (RD/CDCES and RN/CDCES), endocrine nurses, a clinical pharmacist, psychologist, Child Life specialists, and pediatric laboratory services
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in advanced clinical practice or graduate of a post-master's certificate program (for Nurse Practitioners, from an AACN or NLN accredited program); or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- For Nurse Practitioners: RN Compact License (depending on state of primary residence)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon start
- Practice Agreement signed by sponsoring/supervising physician(s)
- Written Scope of Practice/Protocol signed by the supervising physician
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) License if prescribing controlled substances
- Ability to successfully complete credentialing by third-party payors and enroll as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid provider
- Successful completion of medical staff credentialing and appropriate clinical privileges
