Patient Support Technician | Operating Room ST | Variable | Part time

Join UF Health's Operating Room as a Patient Support Technician in a part-time, variable schedule role (20 hours per week). You will support patient care by maintaining the patient environment, supplying necessary care items, transporting patients and patient-related materials, and assisting clinical personnel in direct care delivery.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the patient environment and supply necessary care items
• Transport patients, medical equipment, and patient-related materials safely and timely to their destinations
• Perform complex patient positioning and transfers under the direct and indirect supervision of the surgical team using appropriate positioning equipment
• Assist the surgical staff with physically demanding tasks to prevent injury
• Consult with nursing staff and physicians in developing and implementing positioning plans for surgical patients
• Contribute to building a culture of safety to support clinicians in providing a safe working environment
• Ensure positive patient customer satisfaction through proper body mechanics and adherence to UF Health policies, procedures, and standards

Required Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow basic written and oral instructions
• Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and physically support patients and supplies

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of hospital patient care support-related background
