Job Description

Gaylord Specialty Healthcare is seeking a Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant for the Ortho/Traumatic Brain Injury Specialty Unit (Hooker 2). In this role, you will perform a variety of patient care activities under the direction of the RN, working with patients in medical rehabilitation. With an average patient length of stay of 25-30 days, you will develop strong relationships with patients and play a key role in their recovery journey. You will work in a warm and friendly atmosphere with supportive, interdisciplinary teams and gain valuable exposure to a wide variety of patient populations and clinical skills.

Clinical Setting

Hooker 2 is a CARF-accredited specialty unit focused on patients with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury. The unit utilizes state-of-the-art technology and newly renovated nursing spaces with ceiling lifts to support patient care and safety.

Schedule

  • Evening shift: 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
  • 32 hours per week
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current CNA, CPCT, CEMT, CMA, or RMA certification, or equivalent training program completion
  • American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) CPR certification prior to hire
