Patient Care Technician - Transplant ICU

As a Patient Care Technician in the Transplant ICU at East Jefferson General Hospital, you will provide direct patient care on the front line of a specialized intensive care setting. You will work with transplant patients requiring close monitoring and hands-on support, assisting with their medical, hygiene, nutrition, and personal care needs while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collection of patient assessment data including vital signs, weights, blood glucose monitoring, and intake and output documentation
• Assist with patient hygiene, nutrition, and personal care needs
• Perform patient-related tasks as assigned
• Maintain and advocate for a safe environment for patients, families, and staff
• Maintain a clean patient care environment
• Complete patient rounding according to assignments and schedule to support patient satisfaction and safety
• Respond to patient call lights and requests
• Support the interdisciplinary care team

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• One year of clinical care experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA or PCT experience in a healthcare setting
