The opportunity

Job Description

Join HonorHealth's Medical/Surgical Unit as a Patient Care Technician in Surgical Oncology at Shea Medical Center in Scottsdale, Arizona. In this full-time day shift role, you will provide direct patient care support to surgical oncology patients under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. You will work 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM with self-scheduling flexibility for shift and weekend coverage.

Clinical Setting

You will work on the 3F Surgical Oncology unit, providing care to patients undergoing surgical oncology treatment and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care services under the supervision of a licensed caregiver
  • Assist with personal care and activities of daily living
  • Monitor and record vital signs, intake and output
  • Support patient ambulation and mobility
  • Implement selected portions of the patient care plan as directed by nursing staff
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to licensed caregivers
  • Maintain accurate medical record documentation related to care delivered
  • Address questions and concerns from patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Schedule

This is a full-time position working day shift with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Self-scheduling is available for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary with no set or fixed days. Weekend and holiday rotations are required. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of Block 1 in Nursing, OR Medical Assistant (MA), OR Nursing Assistant (NA), OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) certification, OR 6 months of healthcare experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6 months of acute care experience
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
