Patient Care Technician - South 5 Telemetry

Middlesex Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the South 5 Telemetry unit. In this role, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of Registered Nurses, supporting patients in a telemetry monitoring environment. You will assist with activities of daily living, collect and document clinical data, perform patient observation, and reinforce patient education while contributing to a positive care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including basic hygiene, toileting, and nutrition
• Collect and document clinical data points such as vital signs and blood glucose monitoring
• Perform direct patient observation
• Reinforce patient education
• Participate in creating a positive environment for patients, families, and staff

Schedule

• 24 hours per week
• Night shift: 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
• Every third weekend required

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Experience in a patient care environment such as CNA, EMT, Medical Assistant, Nursing Student, or Pre-Physician Assistant student
• Demonstrated accountability, multitasking, organization, and good communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Hospital experience
• Certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT)
