Patient Care Technician (Per Diem/Second Shift)

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join the Nursing Resource Pool on a per diem basis. This part-time position works the second shift and offers valuable clinical exposure for individuals exploring or beginning a career in nursing or healthcare.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will be an essential part of the care team, working closely with nurses and therapists to support patients throughout their care journey at this comprehensive cancer center.

Responsibilities

• Assist nurses and therapists with direct and indirect patient care
• Safely transport patients throughout the organization
• Pick up and deliver x-rays, supplies, scans, mail, and other materials
• Support smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinic
• Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
• Help maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered care environment

Schedule

• Second shift
• Per diem (as-needed)
• Approximately 4 hours per week (0.1 FTE)
• Part-time employment

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma, AND one of the following:
• Equivalent of one year of full-time direct patient care experience, OR
• Equivalent of three years of full-time healthcare setting experience, OR
• Equivalent of three years of full-time face-to-face customer service experience, OR
• Current enrollment in a nursing program

Compensation

• Starting hourly rate: $19.38
