Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Maryview Medical Center

Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of registered nurses and designated healthcare professionals. In this role, you will be responsible for sanitizing and cleaning patient rooms, monitoring vital signs, assisting patients with basic needs such as feeding and grooming, and fostering patient independence and comfort.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including vital sign measurement, personal care and hygiene assistance, and mobility support
• Monitor patients' health status and report changes or concerns to nursing staff
• Act as a liaison between patients and nurses to communicate patient needs and concerns
• Sanitize and clean patient rooms according to facility standards
• Assist patients with feeding, grooming, and other activities of daily living
• Mobilize patients using therapeutic transfer techniques that promote independence and safety
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of patient care when applicable
• Participate in hand-off reports regarding patient and departmental needs at the start and end of shifts
• Perform delegated tasks once competency has been validated
• Individualize care based on patient interests and hobbies
• Provide high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and employees

Schedule

• Full time, 36 hours per week
• Days and evenings rotation

Required Qualifications

• Successful completion of one of the following: nursing aide training program, STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) certification if required for Ohio long-term care, CNA (Certified Nurse Aide) certification, state nursing aide testing, or completion of a nursing program that included one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation, OR one year of relevant experience in a clinical setting

Preferred Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support certification (preferred upon hire; must be obtained from an approved source prior to direct patient care)
• Recent experience in acute care, physician's office, home health/hospice, or long-term care facility
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
