Job Description

The Villages is a critical illness recovery hospital seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to provide direct patient care in our Oxford, FL facility. In this role, you will support patients during their recovery from critical illness, assisting with activities of daily living and helping our clinical team deliver compassionate care to vulnerable patients.

Clinical Setting

The Villages is a critical illness recovery hospital specializing in inpatient post-ICU services for chronic, critically ill patients requiring extended healing and recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient hygiene services including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding, and hair care
  • Participate in hourly rounds
  • Transport patients to and from various treatment centers as necessary and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
  • Maintain cleanliness of instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals, and wheelchairs
  • Keep patients' rooms clean and orderly
  • Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or relevant work experience of 3 or more years
  • Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant, or experience in a related field such as medical assistant or actively enrolled RN student
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of hire

Schedule

  • Full-time position
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Night shift schedule

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly rate: $17.23 to $21.00
  • Extensive orientation program
