Patient Care Technician, Part Time, Day Shift

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is seeking a Patient Care Technician for a part-time, day shift position. In this role, you will provide direct patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, with a focus on cardiac monitoring and documentation. You will work in a 50-bed acute care medical center that includes a level IV trauma center, level II intensive care nursery services, physical rehabilitation program, outpatient surgery and diagnostic center, and advanced wound care center.

Responsibilities

• Observe cardiac monitors and interpret and document cardiac rhythm strips
• Assist with patient care activities under the guidance of the Charge Nurse or shift leader
• Take and record vital signs, including pain scale assessments according to established policies and procedures
• Perform clerical duties, including chart management and maintaining unit supplies and forms
• Manage front desk operations, assembling and maintaining medical charts
• Maintain work areas and equipment through cleaning, stocking, and ordering of supplies
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or approved vendor per Adventist Health policy

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Education or GED or equivalent
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience
• Medical secretary or receptionist experience
