Patient Care Technician - Orthopedic and Spine Surgery - Part Time Night Shift

St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Orthopedic and Spine Surgery unit. In this part-time night shift role, you will deliver direct patient care in collaboration with the Registered Nurse, performing clinical tasks that support patient comfort and recovery. You will work on an orthopedic and spine surgery unit, providing hands-on care to patients in the immediate postoperative and recovery phases.

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Part-time position
• Includes weekend and holiday rotation
• Initial training is full-time and conducted during daytime hours

Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside patient care under RN supervision
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Position and reposition patients
• Assist with patient feeding
• Perform phlebotomy
• Perform EKG procedures
• Maintain accountability for the quality of patient care delivered
• Adhere to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice
• Participate in orientation and continuing education
• Complete population-specific competency training annually

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Basic computer skills
• First Aid training (provided upon hire)

• Medical background
• Mechanical aptitude
• Manual dexterity

Physical Demands

• Heavy work requiring standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying

Work Environment

• Exposure Class I

Compensation

• Pay range: $17.25 to $21.45 per hour
• Pay is based on experience, skills, and education
• Pay range may vary based on location
