Patient Care Technician Oncology Part Time Nights

AdventHealth is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Oncology department to work part-time night shifts. In this role, you will assist licensed nurses in delivering patient care to oncology patients, performing clinical tasks under nursing supervision and contributing to a compassionate care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse
• Accurately perform and document vital signs in the electronic medical record
• Document and report all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure
• Function appropriately within scope during clinical emergencies
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and support quality standards and initiatives
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, perform hand hygiene according to policy, and enforce safety regulations
• Exhibit a desire to learn and upgrade skills continuously
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
• Perform point of care testing based on competency and hospital policy

Schedule and Location

• Part-time, night shift position
• Location: 9100 W 74th St, Shawnee Mission, Kansas 66204

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• One or more years of applicable Patient Care Technician experience
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification
• Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) certification
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
