The opportunity

Job Description

Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Oncology department. This is a part-time position working 12-hour night shifts. You will provide basic nursing care to inpatients and outpatients under the general supervision of the RN, with responsibilities for patient care delivery, information collection and reporting, and completion of patient care documentation.

Schedule

  • Part-time position
  • 12-hour night shifts

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic nursing care for inpatients and outpatients as needed within assigned area(s)
  • Collect and report patient information to the supervising RN
  • Complete all patient care-related documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a CNA program, OR completion of first semester of a nursing program, OR EMT program completion (for Emergency Services hires)
  • California Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire, OR California Emergency Medical Technician License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire
  • Experience with basic data entry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a dysrhythmia course or ability to pass a rhythm recognition exam, or equivalent education/experience
  • One year of acute patient care experience, OR six months of experience in a direct patient care environment providing clerical support related to provider or patient documentation/charting
  • EKG training
