Providence Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Oncology department. This is a full-time position working 12-hour day shifts. You will provide basic nursing care to inpatients and outpatients under the general supervision of the RN, with responsibilities focused on the oncology specialty area.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic nursing care for inpatients and outpatients in the oncology department
  • Collect and report patient information to the supervising RN
  • Complete all patient care-related documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a CNA program, OR completion of first semester of a nursing program, OR EMT program completion (for Emergency Services hires)
  • California Nursing Assistant Certification License upon hire, OR California Emergency Medical Technician License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS certification from American Heart Association upon hire
  • Experience with basic data entry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a dysrhythmia course or ability to pass a rhythm recognition exam, or equivalent education/experience
  • One year of acute patient care experience, OR six months of experience in a direct patient care environment providing clerical support related to provider or patient documentation/charting
  • EKG training
