The opportunity

Job Description

Join our Women's and Families Campus as a Patient Care Technician in the Neonatal ICU. This 16-hour night shift position (11pm-7am, every other weekend) provides direct and indirect patient care under the guidance of registered nurses, supporting the specialized needs of neonatal patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct and indirect patient care duties under RN supervision
  • Implement components of the plan of care related to basic human, mental health, and social needs
  • Assist with comfort, safety, and emergency measures
  • Support activities of daily living and personal care needs
  • Manage nutrition and fluid needs
  • Assist with elimination needs
  • Measure vital signs
  • Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs)
  • Perform venipuncture and IV placement
  • Conduct capillary blood glucose testing
  • Perform Unit Secretary duties
  • Assist with patient transport
  • Support Environment of Care duties

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program, OR EMT training program, OR Nursing student with satisfactory completion of Nursing 101 clinical or equivalent clinical rotation
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
