Join the Neonatal ICU at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's Women and Families service as a Patient Care Technician. This 16-hour evening shift position (3pm-11:30pm) provides direct and indirect patient care support to neonatal patients under the guidance of registered nurses.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care duties as directed by the registered nurse
- Implement components of the plan of care related to basic human, mental health, and social needs
- Assist with comfort, safety, and emergency measures
- Support activities of daily living and personal care needs
- Assist with nutrition and fluid needs and elimination needs
- Measure vital signs
- Perform electrocardiograms (ECGs)
- Perform venipuncture and IV placement
- Perform capillary blood glucose testing
- Perform Unit Secretary duties
- Assist with patient transport
- Support Environment of Care duties
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of a Nurses Aide or Medical Assistant Training and Competency Evaluation program, OR EMT training program, OR Nursing student with satisfactory completion of Nursing 101 clinical or equivalent clinical rotation
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of experience in a related patient care role
