Patient Care Technician - MSICU

Join the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center as a Patient Care Technician. This 18-bed unit provides critical medical and surgical care, and we are committed to flexible scheduling that balances the needs of both the unit and our staff.

As a Patient Care Technician, you will deliver direct patient care in collaboration with Registered Nurses, performing tasks that do not require nursing judgment or medication administration. You will be accountable for the quality of care you provide and will adhere to St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center standards of care and practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside patient care including positioning, feeding, and hygiene assistance
• Obtain and record vital signs
• Perform phlebotomy and EKG procedures
• Support nursing staff in delivering patient care
• Maintain knowledge and skills through orientation and continuing education
• Complete population-specific competency training annually

Schedule

• Full-time position
• Day shift
• Includes weekend and holiday rotation

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to perform heavy work including standing, lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical background
• Mechanical aptitude
• Manual dexterity

Certifications and Training

• First Aid training will be provided upon hire

Compensation

• Pay range: $17.25 - $21.45 per hour
• Pay is based on experience, skills, and education
