Patient Care Technician – Medical Surgical Post-op, 32 hours/week, Evenings

Beverly Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Medical Surgical Post-op unit. In this role, you will provide basic patient care activities, personal assistance, and support to patients in the post-operative setting under the direction of the Registered Nurse. You will work as part of a patient care team, performing technical, therapeutic, and administrative tasks for which you have been trained.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs, height, weight, and oxygen saturation
• Report all unusual observations to the nurse
• Collect various specimens for analysis
• Record and measure patient intake and output
• Provide personal care and assist patients with daily activities
• Perform basic clinical procedures independently or under RN supervision
• Assist with nutritional needs, including helping patients order room service, setting up meal trays, and feeding

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic four-function math
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA certification
• Basic computer skills
• Medical terminology knowledge

Schedule

• 32 hours per week
• Evening shift
• Every other weekend and every other holiday

Compensation

• Pay range: $19.50 - $26.24 per hour
• Actual compensation determined based on seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography, job responsibilities, and other applicable factors
• Compensation may exceed base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices
