Patient Care Technician - Inpatient Psychiatry - Full Time Days

Gracie Square Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician for our Inpatient Psychiatry unit. In this full-time day shift role, you will perform phlebotomy, EKG, and specimen collection while maintaining awareness of patient needs during routine procedures. You will report observations to the clinical team, communicate any abnormal findings, help patients feel at ease, and serve as an additional set of eyes and ears for our nursing team. You will also participate in maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.

Clinical Setting

This position is based at Gracie Square Hospital, a comprehensive behavioral healthcare facility affiliated with NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine, serving patients in New York City and beyond.

Schedule

Full-time day shift: 6:45 AM - 2:45 PM

Responsibilities

• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection
• Perform and record EKG procedures
• Maintain ongoing awareness of patient needs during routine procedures
• Report observations and abnormal findings to the clinical team
• Collaborate with the clinical team regarding patient status
• Contribute to maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• EKG Certification
• Phlebotomy Certification
• BLS Certification with the American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience as a phlebotomist

Compensation

• Hourly rate: $27.20 - $29.20
