Patient Care Technician II TDCJ Holdover

This position provides technical assistance and supportive patient care to meet the needs of individual patients throughout assigned areas. The role includes serving as a leader and mentor for the assigned unit(s).

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One year of hospital experience
• Completion of one of the following:
• Recognized Nurse Assistant program, OR
• Medical Corpsman program, OR
• EMT program, OR
• Enrollment in a recognized School of Nursing with completion of the first semester containing clinical concepts and health assessment or equivalent
• Documentation of completion of 2 or more of the following:
• Emergency Dispatch
• POCT test site manager
• Cross-training to HUC duties
• Patient Care Assistant trainer
• Unit Audits (1 per month per unit/department manager)
• Cast placement
• High-Level Disinfection performance or assistance
• Delivery table setup
• Setup and assistance with minor operating procedures
• Setup and assistance with area-specific diagnostic procedures
• Language assistance
• Burn tub room duties including splint applications, positioning, pressure wrapping, burn dressing preparation and application, and biobrane/transcyte assistance
• INQN, IDERAD, or PACS system resource/user experience

Licenses and Certifications
