Patient Care Technician II

Memorial Hermann is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to provide direct patient care at the Texas Medical Center location. This full-time night shift position (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) involves supporting patients with activities of daily living, monitoring patient conditions, and assisting nursing staff in delivering safe, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for assigned patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Obtain and record vital signs before and after treatments as applicable
• Monitor patients' conditions visually and report any unusual changes or findings to the nurse
• Assist patients with hygiene, toileting, mobility, nutrition, and bathing
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information
• Obtain and prepare laboratory specimens as prescribed within the scope of the role
• Assist in maintaining a safe and clean working environment
• Help orient new employees as appropriate
• Demonstrate safe work practices and follow all safety rules and Memorial Hermann policies and procedures
• Support professional growth by meeting mandatory and continuing education requirements and skills competency standards

Required Qualifications

• One year of prior patient care experience (such as Certified Nursing Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, or Patient Care Technician) or similar role, preferably in an acute care setting
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association, required within 90 days of employment
• Proficiency in all Core Competencies of the PCT I and II position as validated by Memorial Hermann Clinical Education no later than the end of orientation
