Patient Care Technician ICU

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the ICU at Las Palmas Medical Center, you will be a vital member of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care to critically ill patients. You will help create a safe, welcoming environment while assisting with daily patient needs and monitoring conditions to support care plans.

Clinical Setting

Las Palmas Medical Center is a 300+ bed full-service hospital in El Paso featuring the region's only kidney transplant center. The facility offers Level III trauma care, cardiac care, women's services, pediatric care, NICU, cancer care, and comprehensive emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keep patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality

Required Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
