The opportunity
Job Description
Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to provide direct patient support on the Medical/Renal/Pulmonary unit (10CD). This is a part-time position working days from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., assisting the nursing and medical staff in delivering compassionate care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, and dressing
- Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights
- Assist patients with mobility, including ambulation, transfers, discharges, and range of motion activities
- Perform post mortem care
- Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring
- Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the RN
- Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patient, compassionate nature
- Ability to operate as part of a team alongside physicians and nurses
- Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
