The opportunity

Job Description

Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Technician I to provide direct patient support and assistance to nursing and medical staff. This full-time position works days from 7am to 7pm and is part of the Nursing Resource team.

You will be responsible for assisting patients with their basic daily needs and monitoring their health status. This role requires close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other clinical staff to ensure patients receive comprehensive care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, and dressing
  • Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights
  • Assist patients with mobility including ambulation, transfers, discharges, and range of motion activities
  • Perform post mortem care
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring
  • Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the RN
  • Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior acute care experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Patient and compassionate nature
  • Ability to operate as part of a team alongside physicians and nurses
  • Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
  • BLS certification (required within 3 months of hire)
  • CNA or PCT certification
