PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN--Full Time Nights

SIH is hiring a Patient Care Technician for full-time night shifts to assist nursing staff with direct patient care activities. In this role, you will support registered nurses and licensed practical nurses by performing essential patient care tasks, maintaining accurate documentation, and communicating patient condition changes to the nursing team.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities including obtaining vital signs, monitoring intake and output, bathing, feeding, and toileting
• Assist in medical emergencies, including performing CPR
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records
• Communicate promptly with the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse regarding changes in patient condition
• Complete delegated tasks from the Registered Nurse in a timely manner
• Serve as a patient advocate by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel
• Complete required education and competencies on schedule
• Cross train to telemetry technician if applicable to department needs

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an Illinois-approved CNA training program and passage of a written competency test, or successful completion of a nursing arts course (such as Basics in Nursing, Fundamentals in Nursing, or Nursing 101)
• BLS certification

Compensation

• $19.02 to $28.53 per hour, commensurate with experience
