Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide supportive care to patients in the General Surgical department. Working the night shift, you will assist with direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care tasks supportive to delivery of care in the General Surgical department
- Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Support the nursing team during night shift operations
Schedule
- Full-time nights
- General Surgical department
Required Qualifications
- One of the following:
- Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic; or military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National EMT licensure (must be maintained active during employment)
- Current enrollment in or graduation from an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN program) with completion of first semester clinical for ASN/BSN or first trimester for LPN, and not currently licensed as RN or LPN in the U.S.
- Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification from a Florida State Board-approved program with Florida CNA license obtained within 120 days of graduation
- High School Diploma, GED, or Certificate
- Basic Life Support/CPR (BLS) certification
- Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
Note: Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to November 11, 2019, are grandfathered in and have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.
