Patient Care Technician - Emergency- Full Time

Join Providence Mission Hospital's Emergency Department as a Patient Care Technician in Mission Viejo, California. This full-time position works 12-hour night shifts, providing essential patient care support under the supervision of the RN.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing care for inpatients and outpatients in the Emergency Department
• Perform basic respiratory and cardiology support
• Conduct phlebotomy procedures
• Assist with orthopedic devices and procedures
• Provide care across all age groups: infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Collect and report patient information to the supervising RN
• Complete all patient care-related documentation
• Perform basic data entry tasks

Required Qualifications

• Completion of a CNA program, OR completion of first semester of a nursing program, OR completion of an EMT program (for Emergency Services positions)
• California Nursing Assistant Certification License (upon hire)
• California Emergency Medical Technician License (upon hire)
• National Provider BLS certification from American Heart Association (upon hire)
• Experience with basic data entry

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful completion of a dysrhythmia course or ability to pass a rhythm recognition exam
• One year of acute patient care experience
• Six months of experience in a direct patient care environment providing clerical support related to provider or patient documentation or charting
• EKG training
